Each Spring and Fall, Camp Mak-A-Dream in Gold Creek, Montana, welcomes women from across North America for an Ovarian Cancer Survivors Retreat. The retreats are free of cost and open to ovarian cancer survivors both in and out of treatment.
The retreats are a haven where women learn how to strengthen their bodies and nurture their souls. Activities include workshops led by health care professionals and veteran sister survivors, theme nights, outings, outdoor adventures, crafts, and plenty of time for socializing and relaxation. Campers learn how to cope with pain and stress, deal with the side effects of treatment, and face survivor-ship issues. The strength, purpose, friendship, and good humor survivors gain from the retreat help sustain them long after they return home.
The Ovarian Cancer Survivors Foundation (OCSF) is a non-profit organization that collaborates with Camp Mak-A-Dream in funding and scheduling both annual retreats. In addition, the foundation funds travel scholarships for campers with financial limitations who would not otherwise be able to attend.
What fun we had on Theme Night - Set Sail on a Cruise Ship. Everyone had wonderful costumes and for those who did not bring one; they visited our costume closet to find the perfect outfit for the night. The food was wonderful, decorations and it was all made possible by the amazing Camp Mak-A Dream staff and volunteers.
